Went out at 2:30 PM today and put in at East Fork. Caught my first short bass on a jerkbait on the first mud turn out of the ramp. Kept fishing mud banks because I had success last spring fishing them but no luck. Went down and fished where West & East Fork meet and caught 3 more short bass. Largest was 14 in. on a crankbait and two more shorts on a jerkbait. Saw a nice bass chasing a 6 inch shad in the shallows but he could not commit. Lots of boats out today, mostly crappie fishermen and it did not look like the crappie were biting till right before dark. Be back out this weekend…Dally

Nice report. I too fished priest today. Left out of Fate Sanders around 9:45a. Against my better judgement I decided to try out the main lake initially. Water temps were up about 5 degrees from Sunday. I fished the back of Goat Island with Rattletraps, jerkbaits, and jigs, no dice. I then proceeded to head toward spring creek, and mainly stayed in the mouth. Water temps there were around 57. I fished the initial point on the left hand side, and threw the same the array of baits down the rocky bank a few times, I was limited on time and ended up without a bite.

Thanks Kessler. All my fish were in 8-12 foot of water, I forgot to mention that. Hopefully this rain will not cause too much problem for crappie fishing Sat morning. I found some fish Thursday but did not fish for them and hope to catch some Sat..

I think the rain will help. It should help warm the water up a little and the fish back in east fork bite like they are starving when there is current. I’m gonna put in at east fork in the morning and hit some crappie holes
