I was lucky enough to get out of school early today and head to the lake. I put in at Fate Sanders around 2:00 and fished until 4:30. I started on the bank opposite the boat ramp at Fate Sanders and fished about 400 yards back with a shad rap. No luck. Next I motored over to the bluff adjacent to the Stewarts Creek boat ramp. I dragged a jig around for a while to no avail, and then decided to go to my confidence bait for this winter on Priest, the drop shot. I fished the rest of the bluff and had three bites. I missed the first two and lost the third, a short fish, at the boat. After finishing this bluff, I trolled over to the little bluff straight across from the ramp. My third cast I set the hook and my rod doubled over. After about 2 minutes of slowly coaxing her up out of 20 feet of water I landed this beauty. It was my only fish of the day, but I am content. It was so nice being out there and not having to wear half my closet to stay warm!
P.S. sorry for the small picture…It has to be that small to fit.
