40 bass day Friday
Follow the channel out of Bryant’s Grove going towards Hong Kong and on the right side is the long underwater rock ledge with a white caution rock buoy. Set up the boat just to the left of the buoy in 25-30 feet of water make a short cast to 6 FOW then slowly hop the 1/4oz shaky head or Tex rig back. 90% of the fish came from a 20ft or less area if we moved down the ledge toward the island or to the right of the buoy the bite slowed up. They would hit it good some times but most of the time they would just swim off with your bait so you had to watch your line or when you lost contact with your bait set the hook. They would hit any color or size plastic bait from 10″ worm to crawl or jig. Re-tie often because the rocks were chewing up the line whiched caused some break offs. We boated over 40 bass in that spot from 5:30am – 11:30pm. 7-8 were keeper size most were 13-14″. We were catching two at a time and several back to back cast. IT WAS AN AWESOME DAY!
