I fished Smith Springs yesterday from 4:00-6:00pm.
Water temps were from 76-78.5. I caught a couple of shorts fishing shallow with a square bill. I also had a couple of decent followers while fishing rock piles in 8-12ft on a deep diving crankbait. This was right in front of the clear cut area in the cove to the right when leaving the no wake zone. As the sun was going down, I had a couple short strikes on a white buzz bait back around the ramp. There was a lot of wind blowing into smith springs, but the water was super clear. I think with some cloud cover I could have done better. The bait was scattered in the shallows, but in tight balls suspending at 10-15ft over deeper water. Should have brought some spoons or silver buddies. J
