This afternoon two of us caught 50-60 hybrids and white bass(mostly hybrids). Many of the hybrids were 2-4 pounds, all on 1/4 oz chrome sexy shad RT. We caught most of the larger hybrids in the back of Bryant’s Grove where they were on a major feeding frenzy!

Between Brian’s most recent reports and this one, I’d say the fishing is starting to heat up!

Good lord…I am sitting at work reading these reports, looking at the weather outside, and thinking about faking illness to get on the water this afternoon.

I did take the day off today (Friday) and tossed umbrella rigs and lipless cranks from 7 -1 and we caught one fish. Guess the bluebird skies turned them off. We fished Hong Kong island and all the other points back there like Brian did on Wed. Horrible day….had my middle son here who just got done with the baseball season in Florida. I was not happy. We saw Brian in the morning take off, I should have wrote him a check and went fishing with him! 🙂 Please tell me they turned off today….my pride was hurt!

These guys were gorging! When I would take the hook out of their mouth, many had two or three shad in the mouth and still hit my RT.

Tougher day today. Caught around 12-15. Behind Hong Kong produced 10-12 (one 3.5lb that got off after jumping). Then we caught one here anand there after a lot of casting. I did catch a 5lb on a spook in 2ft of water though!

Sadly I might be retired from work but I am not retired from kids… The kids having a fall break, my wife having surgery, and running errands every day the past two weeks has kept me from getting My Keel guard on (finishing it already did part so because everything is marked and scuffed I can’t put my boat in the water) I am missing out on all the fun…

We are headed out in the morning. Gonna find some bait and start chunking and winding…or maybe quick twitches with the fluke. I told my partner that if we didn’t catch 10 fish, I was selling my boat. 😀
