Any Drakes Creek Report?
I’m thinking of heading to Drakes Creek tomorrow. Has anyone made it over to that area recently? If so, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I fished Thursday out of Shutes 7am…water 64…wind light to 5mph…water clarity 2-4 feet.
Stopped at far end of little island where both creeks come together in 2-10 feet of water. Throwing a SK Sexy Dawg in Sexy Shad picked up 4 LM one 3llb and three dinks.
Moved up to bluegrass and threw topwater, square bills, 4-6 cranks and white flukes and only picked up several dinks.
Moved down river and tucked into small creek on left to avoid barge…name ???…picked up 6 more dinks on rattle trap shad color.
It’s my belief that mama LM is still all over the place, one here one there. Saw large schools of baitfish back in some creeks but no real bass attacking them.
Will go to KY New Johnsonville Sat but really expect the same type of results. Until the 80 degree days go away and the water drops below 60 don’t expect any big schools

I launched outta the public ramp right by Cheekwood marina within Drakes Creek. From there I proceeded to fish a lot of the points and backs of little coves within Drakes. I had one good fish I saw hit my topwater but didn’t connect. Otherwise I had several other dinks blow up on my topwater or hit my squarebill. The good’un that missed my topwater was at the farthest spot back in Drakes that I fished that day. Hindsight is 20/20 but makes me wonder if I should have gone farther back in Drakes rather than heading towards the mouth.

Maybe but honestly I ain’t caught crap in the back 1/3. Interesting post on cold front conditions…use smaller baits, slow way down and hit cover with baits.
I am going again tomorrow to OH and will put in up around 109 bridge and fish the 3 creeks up there…will report on my success. -
