  • April 14 report, frequency and deliver of reports

Posted by Brian on April 16, 2014 at 1:12 am

I wanted to apologize to everyone….I forgot to put a report yesterday. I put up more coordinates for each lake and total forgot to post a report. I will get one up tonight after the kiddos go to bed.

Also, I want to get some feedback from everyone on the frequency of reports and the delivery of reports. I try to get a report up every 3 days, giving everyone 2 reports a week and sometimes I post 3. Do you guys feel that you are receiving what you signed up for?

Lastly, I post reports everyday 3 day mostly. Does that work best for you guys OR would you like a report on Tuesdays and Fridays with a Sunday report every other week?
It’s my understanding that reports on Friday would be appreciated because most members get out on Sat and Sun.

I want this forum to be a great resource for the members, where we can network, learn more, make friends, help local charities and ultimately…catch more fish!!!!

I doing so I need to evaluate how things are going.

Thank you for you thoughts and input,

Brian I really like the idea of a Friday report for the reason you mentioned, a lot of us fish on the weekend. Believe me the information you provide is more valuable than any other report in Tennessee for any lake. With the excellent contributing reports being submitted by the membership there no shortage of great daily information. I personally appreciate you just taking the time once or twice a week to share your expertise with us.

I agree Friday reports are a great idea since most of us only get out on the weekend. I definitely think we are getting what we signed up for the reports are very informative and the frequency is just fine.

For starters, I think you’re doing a great job with this forum. Every morning when I get to work (don’t tell anyone :o), I look forward to reading the various reports from individual luckier than I who get to go fishing during the week! But it just adds to the excitement when I do get an opportunity to get out on the lake.

I agree with Frisky, I like the idea of the Friday report. Give a nice heads-up going into the weekend.

I think it is great what you are doing. It is definitely think it was worth signing up for. The reports are detailed and help a lot. This is the next best thing to going fishing.

A Friday report would be good.
2-3 per week for bass is of most interest to me personally. However, I understand that not all of your trips are for bass. So, either way, including lake conditions [temp/clarity/levels] in an easy to browse/scan format would be really helpful. Otherwise, more community contributions would help a lot. From a competitive perspective, the lack of specificity in reports makes sense – especially for the club/tourney guys. However, some rough ideas about roughly what techniques and what areas of the lake [down/up/mid] are working would certainly be helpful. Only having the opportunity to go out once a week for 4-6hrs makes any amount of water/technique elimination really helpful to maximizing my time while out there.

Brian , I have only been a member for a few short weeks and I can say that you are delivering what you said you would . I only get to get out once a week and the information shared here keeps me from spending hours looking for fish and guessing what they are doing and spend more time catching ! I think it’s a good value that most anyone can afford without being overpriced . Thank you for sharing and making my time out on the water more enjoyable!

Great job with the forum so far! I also like the idea of a Friday report. Even if it isn’t a fish by fish report, a heads up of the lake conditions and what general areas/presentations to chose would be awesome.

    Thanks, Jack

My luck with fishing reports has alwas been they are 1 -2 weeks old – “shuda been here last week”. Lol. Best thing about this forum is its current. A “heads up” type report on fri for sat/sun for bass & crappie could be very helpful for the weekend guys. What happened on tues/wed, while somewhat helpful & fun to read about, may not be the best tactics for future days. Thanks & keep up the good work.

So glad I signed up for the forum. Even though I’ve been fishing Priest for 30+ years, I’m certainly not an expert on it. (For me to enter a tournament would just be a donation). I agree a Friday report would be awesome since 90% of my fishing is weekends. The only other suggestion I would offer would be to give a little more detail to the areas being fished. For example, I’ve always known about the abandoned boat ramp downstream from Fate Sanders on the right but never knew it was called Jones Mill. Didn’t know it had a name. I know the major creeks, Spring, Fall, Stewarts, etc but I guess I’m still not sure all the names for all the areas. Thanks to Brian and all others who post their reports.

Sure, no problem. The problem with some of the names is that they are not official or on a map. Some angler started calling Sister cove next to Fate Sanders years ago and it stuck. I’m learning there are places down lake I don’t know. I will do my best to be descriptive, but if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. I’m sure someone else has the same question too.

I actually had an idea for the “locations” question.
Brian, if you could put a “sticky” post at the top of the forum, we could just start adding a ton of locations with rough GPS coordinates into it.
I’d be happy to take a stab at the lower end of the lake [below Hobson Pike Bridge] as a starter.
