Today was a good day on the lake chasing the crappie.
I started the day around Pooles Knob boat ramp fishing brushpiles in 8ft-14ft. We quickly boated a few short crappie and quality keepers before the storm set in. We were tight lining minnows and Crappie Magnets(Sno Snuff) with 1/16oz white crappie magnets jig heads.
When we came back out an hour later we caught a few short and keeper crappie in 5ft off the bank in the little cove across from Fate Sanders.
Next we moved behind the first cut through on brushpiles in 12ft-14ft….there we got several more keepers.
We moved to Jones Mill Cove and caught 2 more keepers on stumps in the back in 6ft. Here we put a float on and cast away from the boat.
Our forth stop was at Mouse Tail Island. Fishing brushpiles on the north bank off the sandy point in 12ft-16ft we caught 6 more keepers and many short crappie.
Fifth spot the La Vergne pump house cut through. There we fished in 20ft on BP and caught 2 keepers.
Out last spot was back at Jones Mill Cove. I switched to a black/chart magnet while we fished the giant brushpiles I put out 8 years ago off the Jones Mill boat ramp in 14ft. We caught 16 crappie in 10 minutes without 1 keeper! lol
All and all we had a fun, active day. We caught around 20 keepers and enjoyed the tight line bite for the first time in a while.

Good report Brian. I got on the water at 7 and caught one keeper before the storm came through. Went back to the ramp and tied off and sat in the truck while it passes through. I went back out at around 8:30 and fished until 2:30. I fished the same 100 yard stretch next to the pools knob campground near one of your coordinates. There’s tons of structure there in 14 FOW. I never left. I fished solo and ended up with 17 keepers and ran out of minnows (7 dz). Caught tons of shorts but some NICE keepers. I also caught a lot of fish on a double jig rig with the pearl white crappie magnets with the black flake. Think it’s called Percy.
I bet I caught over 60 crappie in total. Great day by my standards. I was fishing 5-8 feet deep on 12-15 FOW.

quote jboy:Is the Spawn over??? you guys have already went deep to tight line….Idk if it ever happened lol. I’m done crappie fishing now but Saturday I caught 30 w/ 14 keepers and only 1 had mature eggs in them. Most of them had the very early egg stages. I caught my fish in about 8ft of water.
