Combined, yesterday and today my boat landed 51 keeper crappie. I have abandoned the shallows for good and have moved into brushpiles in 12ft-20ft.

Fish are still being caught in 3ff-6ft, but I am finding plenty of fish deep, which I prefer since the banks are crowded a lot this time of year.

With the water between 65-68 degrees I have been fishing between Fate Sanders and Four Corners. The majority of our keepers are still coming from Pooles Knob boat ramp area(out in front of bank with ramp), around the youth camp(20 yards off bank with dock on it), near Hong Kong Island(the flat in front of HK), Long Hunter boat ramp(long point in front of long hunter), Four Corners marina and all around Ponderosa Island.

Tight lining minnows and Crappie Magnets has been the name of the game. 1/8 jig heads with purple/pink, pearl, yellow/chart and red/chart have been the best colors for me.

There are a lot of eggs in these crappie…must be spawning deep. If you have a side/down imaging unit and don’t know how to use it and want to learn, book a trip with me. It is a game changer being able to fish only trees that have crappie!

I put in at fate sanders this morning and ran to the back of Stewart’s creek to some shallow mud flats to try and find some bass looking to spawn soon. Found a school staging not on but near the channel drop in 3-4 ft of water on the edge of a weed bed. Caught 2 solid keepers 8-10 little ones and my brother had a monster on that hooked up in 1ft of water swam straight to the channel under the boat doubled the rod as far as it could go and the line hit the motor snapping him off. We were using Texas rig baby brush hog and 1/4 oz shaky head with trick worm both pumpkin seed color. Was hoping for a top water bite this morning but couldn’t make it happen. Will be back out again in the morning.
Brian I am having trouble with my main graph not reading. GPS works fine but the graph is in and out like I’m getting interference from something. Any suggestions? Transducer is through the hull mounted solid wires are all tight I can’t figure it out.
