Today was tougher than the last few trips. We started fishing at 615am and headed right to our first spot…..behind the smyrna pumping station. After 30-40 minutes and not one strike on our buzzbaits, I decided to fold my hand on that spot. I think the super shallow water back there is getting too hot(85 degrees) and the fish are moving out. I did not see much bait back there.
We then moved to the mouth of spring creek(the big flat to the right before you enter creek). We started back up with our buzzbaits and quickly received a few bites….I think we caught two and missed several there.
Then we fished in the back of Fate Sanders with shad raps(blue and orange) and caught 1, not as much action back there as last Saturday.
We finished up in the back of Stewarts Creek, catching a few on plastic worms(green pumpkin)… shaky heads(3/16oz). They were on rock points near the ramp in the back.
After around 10-11am the bite really slowed down and it started to get hot on us. Mornings and evening will probably be the most active until mid September, but……you never know!
