Headed back out at 5 am this morning and did not get the first fish in the boat till almost 9 am. Hit the pump house in east fork first and lost a small bass there. Grinded cranks for a hour but the fish were just not there like they were on Friday morning. Hit the large shallow cove before Jefferson pump house and hooked 3 bass on topwaters. One stuck in a bush and none made it in the boat. Went down by the old bridge in west fork and caught one nice keeper on a crank. Thought about hanging it up after that but decided to try one more spot along the east/west fork split. There is a small point on the right side, the only rocks on that side about halfway down before the big turn heading up the fork and it held fish. We caught 7 in about 30 min. Flukes, cranks and I pulled two off the end of the point on a blade bait. One nice spot and the rest large mouths. One keeper LM and the spot was a nice 3+ Turned out to be a good day. Off the water at 10:30 for honey do list. Be back out at 5 am. Bass were chasing LARGE bait. We saw them chasing them on top and the bait were almost 4-5 inches long. They wouldn’t look at anything small. One thing I did notice is the water is much dirtier up river. Big difference from where we floated on the pontoon outside Fate Sanders Friday afternoon. Does anybody know if they are drawing water, it sure looked like the lake was coming down? Maybe just all the boat traffic is just changing the banks but it looked lower then it did on Friday.

Probably just runoff from the rains this morning.
It was kind of scattered, but i had a good amount in the bed of my truck when i got up this morning in East Nashville. The Cumberland downtown looked to be at regular levels with little current. So, it’s possible that OH was pulled in advance and Priest was being pulled this morning. I don’t work for the corps [obviously], but it seems they pull OH before Priest every time there is a threat of rain these days. I’m heading out at 5:00 in the morning lower lake. Hope they are chasing big baits as I want to throw swim jigs and BIG squarebill crankbaits.
