My 15 y/o son has a female friend he wants to take fishing. 😉 She has never been fishing so I thought bobber fishing for pan fish would be a good start. I’m good with the tackle and bait but am wondering where the most optimum location would be. My initial thought was put in at Mona and work our way towards the lake. Any other locations? Any other thoughts or suggestions? Thanks guys!

Truth be told, you could probably have good luck by fishing from the bank around Fate Sanders. I take my son fishing from the bank around Jefferson Springs as well. That would be a good ramp to drop in too.

there are usually easy to catch panfish around the restaurants at the marinas.
if you want to catch bass, i think the easiest way to catch them for a beginner is either weightless tex-posed senko or drop shot. neither requires much in the way of setting the hook and they don’t hand on the bottom too badly. i also used to catch a ton of fish on a roostertail in the shallower parts of the stones river [towards walter hill].

The back bay of Stewart’s creek boat ramp cove is great for bank fishing. ……especially earlier morning. There is also a lot of structure to cast to.
