My son and I spent most of the morning fishing for crappie over brush, not much luck only caught 12 keepers…all scattered up and down around Faith Sanders (about 5 of Brian’s posted coords.) We finally decided to try some of the areas in Stewart creek where buzz bait was productive last year. 1st cove on left going up the creek we got several hits and caught 3 small fish around 11-12 inches. As we were leaving we decided to try the cypress flat at the beginning of the ski area. 3rd cast across the flat I had one come completely out of the water after my Hoppy’s Tally Wacker Brian introduced me to last year. This thing sounds like a 1949 ford clacking across the water…4.8lbs. All and all a great day to fish water smooth as silk, slight breeze water clarity about 2ft.

Alright! That sounds like fun. I’m ready to start casting buzzbaits again! Nice fish.

Nice fish! I need to stock up on the tallywhackers and hog buzzes before they get sold out at Fate Sanders.

Should have tried one tonight….I tossed a frog in the cut thru at the forks but a buzzbait may have been the key. Nice fish and thanks for the tip.
