All, I know this is off topic but has anyone tried cat fishing below OH damn from the bank and if so did you do any good? Thinking of trying it one evening this weekend from the boat ramp. Any tips are appreciated.

I’ve never tried catfishing below the dam, but have done some fishing for stripers and bass down there.
To be honest, I think you’re going to find it really frustrating. When the current is running, the size weight that it takes to keep your bait on the bottom is enough to cause constant snags. The bottom is all rock. Also, there are probably miles and miles worth of fishing line snagged up on the bottom to get caught up in. I’ve fished below the dam multiple times from my boat, only to get frustrated by constant hangups. The, I would move further downriver with more success. If you really want to fish from shore for cats on the Cumberland, I would suggest metrocenter or some of the areas closer to downtown. Lots of guys used to fish below the pedestrian bridge [closed now] with good success – especially at night. So, you might try fishing around the ramp at Shelby Bottoms or somewhere with less rocks and line. Just my 2 cents. Let us know how you do.
