Went back out on Easter Sunday with my buddy trolling for crappie. We caught 52 keepers in 5 hours in Stewart Creek using the exact technique I described in my last post. Amazing day. Most fish still had eggs unlike our last trip so this bite should be good for at least another week. We made a move in the creek and these fish were in a depression in the bay we fished. Maybe a old pond? Looked close to the channel on the sonar too. 3-7 foot of water but most of our fish came in 3-4 spots in our 300 yard run. Thanks for all the bass reports, I have been stuck on crappie and need to be ready for the tourney on 5/3. Hope to hit the bass Sat and crappie Sunday.

I will sigh up today for the bass tourney today. I was waiting for my fishing partner to decide if we could do both or not. His boat has the crappie set up and mine is more for bass fishing. We have been catching some dandy crappies for sure. Looks like you have too.

Decided to try the crappie for this tourney. Members only correct? So my fishing partner can fish with me but he can’t be in the tourney? He would be willing to fork over 20 bucks I’m sure but I didn’t want to sign him up if he was not a member. He will probably catch all the big ones that day!

I need more crappie participants. Lets see how many people we have on crappie tournament next week…..we might need him. And it is just more money for a great cause.

How far back are you fishing in Stewart Creek, all the way back by the boat launch or not quite that far?

We have been fishing by the ski course on the left side and the back of that same cove. We have also been fishing the next cove down from that. Just keep moving is the key, that and large rock banks in 3 – 7 foot of water.
