Crappie 6/6
Caught a few on some brush on the new side of mouse tail island. But it was real slow. Tried a few other spots with little luck. Kept finding bass, hybrid, and white/yellow bass which would wreak havoc on my spider rig. Ended up finding a lot of crappie schooled on a drop in the cove near Bryant’s grove. Drop went from 15-20 foot of water and they were stacked in there. Caught 15 keepers and a lot of shorts in a few hours on minnows. Couldn’t get them to bite magnets and it slowed way down when I ran outta minnows. Had I had more minnows I could have caught a lot more. The earlier runs of hybrids, and other fish ran me out of minnows.
Good day until the joy riders ran me off the lake. A family on a pontoon decided to pull a tube round and round in the cove I was fishing for about an hour. 🙄
