Hey all, I was thinking about buying a new rod and reel combo for crappie fishing at the fishing show this weekend. What is your ideal setup for tight lining or slip bobber fishing?

For tightlining brush from a boat I like B & M Bucks Best bottom seat 10 footer, it gives you some reach but isn’t to heavy and has the blank exposed on the grip for better feel. I also have put a bobber on and flipped it out to the edges of lay down trees on the bank and around docks. Since you are not using it as a casting rod the reel doesn’t have to be anything real fancy. If your fishing from the bank and want to get more reach they have a 12 foot rod, they are a little heavier but will get you a little more reach. Down side for bank fishing is you need the room over head to lift the rod and swing the fish in.

    Happy shopping 😀

I like a 6ft med light or light action rod with any $25-$50 spinning reel(crappie reel). The 6ft gives me enough leverage to make long cast, but allows each fish to seem super big with the flemcy tip. Great for casting jigs and slip bobbers.
