NIce! We gave up on Bass this morning and went after some crappie. Did ok mid lake catching around 15 with 8 solid keepers in a few hours. All on minnows 10-16ft. Biggest was almost 14″.

Do you use tuffies or shiners

Tuffies. Interestingly, we were talking about how small the minnows were today. I personally think shiners are too big for crappie. I typically like them (tuffies) to be 1.5″ – 2″. they just seem to be more lively. Today we were catching big crappie on smaller 3/4″ -1.5″. (not by choice just what we were sold) They were nailing them too, not a tap, tap but grab the pole before it goes in the water! Almost like a yellow bass or hybrid would hit them. That said, I still like the larger minnows so I can tell there is something on the line.

    Hey there!
For this time of year y’all talk about catching crappie in 10-16ft, is that all in the main channel or creeks? Do the crappie not really hit the creeks in the fall transition?
    Thanks for the info!
