I’m looking to do a little crappie fishing this Fall and Winter but beforehand, I need to pick up some gear. I’m just looking for a couple general purpose rods right now. What do you guys recommend?

I use a Daiwa Ballistic 2500, a bass pro 8 foot ultralight crappie rod, Proline slick 8 micro braid, Seaguar leaders, and Crappie magnets… (Sometimes floats), but with that get up I can feel EVERYTHING… When I tight line minnows I can actually feel them twitching around…

I like any 6 ft or 5 1/2ft med light or light rods for both tight lining and casting jigs with crappie magnet 6lb line. I I use 1/16 and 1/8pm Crappie Magnet Double Cross jigs (you can get a 25 pack for $6 in my store). I like red, chartreuse, and chrome heads. As for my magents, I like yellow/chartreuse, “dude special”, pearl, orange/chart. All of these you can get in my store for cheap. http://Www.briancarper.com

Another questions, do you prefer glass or graphite rods for most crappie applications?
