We usually catch our share of Crappie. The last 2 times out, only had 2 keepers. Last 10 days the bite was way off for me. What’s
going on? The drawdown was not a problem in the past years. This summer was the best for years. Don’t use minners.

The bite has been off the last two days. I fished today around Pooles Knob boat ramp, the youth camp and Bryants Grove. Fishing with Crappie Magnets(Pearl on 1/8oz jig) and minnows we caught around 20 with 12 keepers. I started fishing shallow brush in 6-8ft and had no success. So, we moved out in trees in 12-20ft and had some success. Usually I find the bite to be a little down when they first start lowering the lake and then as they stabilize it, the bite picks up. One area area if the lake that seems to stay consistent is the river portion near Jefferson springs. The channel holds crappie on the stake beds and trees on drop the off. Brian
