Yesterday I went out for a few hours with my father and brother who is visiting. We put in at Mona boat ramp and headed to the East and West Fork Split.
Starting there and fish 500 into the West Fork, we fished with minnows(tight lining) and Crappie Magnets(Pearl with Chartreuse 1/8oz jig head). In two hours we caught around 10-12 crappie, and several white bass and yellow bass.

There is bait everywhere in near the Forks. You can see balls of shad and fish feeding on them consistently! I was not out long due to the cold rain that moved in, but we had a great time and a lot of bites.

I will be out Wednesday fishing in a tournament out of Fate Sanders called the “Hangover Tournament”(b/c it is the day after New Years Eve). I can guarantee I will not have a hangover! Hopefully the fish will be biting. I’ll post how it goes.

****I have been mailing out packages of the new lures I have been selling. I tried the Minnow 3.3 in Thread Fin for a few minutes when I was out, but no luck. I hope everyone likes them. I am excited about fishing with them and posting pictures of fish they catch! To purchase some click the link here: http://briancarper.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8

    God Bless, Brian

    Brian,

The tournament you mention Wednesday, is this an open tournament? What is blast off time? Entry fee?

I probably most likely WILL have a hangover, but might convince my son to enter the tournament with me.

Hoping to get out with my sons who are home for Christmas break that afternoon. No hangovers, they just don’t want to get up early. Any suggestions on afternoon places and lures?

I may donate money to the pot on Wednesday if I can get a partner that hasn’t retired for the winter.

Its supposed to be warmer tomorrow, so I am going to fish in shallow water(2ft-6ft)…..especially in afternoon. I am going to cast a Minnow 3.3 in sexy shad and craw in the morning and then switch to a Minnow 2.5 in the afternoon when I they move up a little. I hope they are active for my tournament!!!!

    I’ll post how it goes!
