Yesterday I went out form 2pm-4:30pm. I wanted to see where the lake level was and the water clarity. I launched my boat at Fall Creek boat ramp, there, the water temp was 48 and the clarity was 6″. I motored over to the back of Spring Creek, planned on fishing the springs. The water temperature the other day was 58, now it was between 54-56. The clarity was 8″-10″ in the channel, but around the springs it was over 1″. The first hour I switched between an Academy square bill crankbait in yellow, orange and black(I wanted a wide bobble that disperses a lot of water and bright colors to stand out in the stained water), buzzbait, spook and jig. I only caught 2 on the crankbait before I started getting strikes on the spook. I realized the bass were right on the bank(first 5 yards off) near the springs. The next hour I had 11 strikes on the spook and caught 6 more, including 2 keepers! I was casting Heddon Jr. Spook in blue/clear color pattern.

Great time on the lake! Averaged over 1 strike every 10 mins!

This week is going to be very cold, I’ll be out Wednesday to see whats going on!

    God Bless,
