I fished the lower end of the lake out of Elm Hill on sunday afternoon from 2:00:4:45.
I started at the shelf at the end of the bluff by Cooks. The water was 49-50 depending on how shallow I was with a bit of a stain on the main lake. On the shelf, I caught a 18″ smallmouth on a shad rap #5 in the orange craw color in 4ft of water bumping rocks. Then I ran to sailboat cove and fished the bank opposite the roadbed. I had a good sized smallie throw the shad rap there. The water was 49-51 with a pretty good muck line midway back into the cove. I finished out with a keeper largemouth on the shad rap in elm hill marina fishing scattered rocks in 3ft of water. The water was really murky back in there. I also threw a jig with no success. By the time i took out it started raining pretty good. I hope to get out again this coming Sunday. Just about time for dropshotting. J
