Cold morning on the lake! There was a high north wind and the water temperature was between 48-49 near Hobson Pike bridge. The water Clarity was between 1.5-2.5 feet. I started at hotel/motel just passed Hobson Pike Bridge fishing with Alabama rigs. Keeping the boat a cast distance off the bank we fished both islands and the saddle in between without any luck. We tried letting are Alabama rigs sink to about 5 to 8 feet before retrieving slowly. Next we moved up to Hole in the Wall and fished the actual hole in the bluff wall. I kept the boat in 25-60 feet casting to the opening in the bluff wall and to the left and right. After 30 minutes and no success I pulled up the trolling motor. We motored across the channel to Party Cove and started at the end of the bluff wall on the right point going into Party Cove. Keeping the boat anywhere from 20 to 40 feet, a cast from the bank, we tried Alabama rigs and a Mean Mouth jerkbait in purple, chartreuse, and white. I had one good bite on the point on my jerkbait that missed the lure. We continued inside cove for 45 minutes to stayed out of the wind without another bite. We motored out of party Cove and went to the left of the bluff walk and fished the next cove on the left. Continuing with the jerkbait and the Alabama Rig we had no success in the cove and then started fishing the bluff wall with a 1/4oz shaky head with green pumpkin Zoom trick worm. We fished 50 yards with the shaky head without a bite and decided we would try to chase some hybrids. Casting Alabama Rigs and 6″ white swimbaits we fished around Hobson Pike and Bryant’s Grove without any success. The last hour of the day we found some hybrids near Four Corners and were able to catch several nice hybrid and miss several more. The fish were in 20 to 30 feet deep. Tough day for the bass, but I’ll be out Monday again with some clients and Saturday I’ll be fishing for Crappie up in the river.

Hey Brian, did you troll for the hybrids, or just cast to the school? What bait(s) did you use?
    Thanks,
    Mike
