Fishing Report: 11/20
Sunday I launched from Nashville Shores Marina and hand a “decent” day.
Starting out, I used a squarebill (SK 1.5) to crank the gravel/rock bank on the left hand side as you leave the Marina. Within 5 mins, I caught one borderline keeper. I continued down the bank until the start of Nashville Shores Water Park but didn’t get anything to show for it.
Motored to Old Hickory Cove and fished around in that creek for a couple hours hitting points, flats, etc. to no avail. However, when I was in there I did notice a massive amount of shad in the creek channel, which wasn’t shocking considering the cold front. I did throw a spoon and a ned rig a little bit but didn’t have any takers.
I motored down to the cut through of Goose Island and main lake point to the East. I caught one 10″ smallmouth on a squarebill on the South side of Goose Island. I fished the point/flat on the East side of Goose Island and started fishing the bottleneck towards the main lake point to the East. Using a mid-depth crankbait, I caught a 16-17″ largemouth. Fished the point and flat on the main lake point but nothing bit.
As I was heading in, now that it was dusk, I threw some topwater on the same bank I started the day on. I caught one more borderline keeper and had another small fish swipe at it. Threw the boat on the trailer and called it a day.
