We fished the lower end of the lake yesterday from 2:30-Dark.
To make a long story short, water temps downlake ranged from 41-46. The backs of pockets seemed to be colder for some reason – probably due to lack of sun on Saturday. Water clarity was really variable due to the wind. Everything from 2ft visibility to 0 visibility. After spending the first several hours fishing 45’s and shallow pockets where we had caught fish a couple weeks ago, we hadn’t caught anything. At this point, we headed to the bluff between Seven Points Ramp and the big point. We marked a ton of fish here, but couldn’t get them to bite on a dropshot, tube or jig. I didn’t feel like finding my box of spoons. There were also some gulls working tiny bait in this area. We zero’d back in Suggs.

Then we headed back to the bluffs between Elm Hill and Hamilton Creek. Here we caught a couple of short fish on a drop shot in 25ft of water. Similar to another post about crappie yesterday, the fish seemed to be extremely scattered. The only place we were able to consistently graph piles of fish were tight to standing timber in 30-45ft of water.

Overall, a slower day than I expected, but I feel like things are about to turn on.

Can’t wait for the water to get clearer down there. Thanks for the report.
