Fishing tomorrow for crappie?
Posted by danak14 on February 19, 2014 at 1:14 amjust joined this forum. I’m eager to learn a bit. I’m originally from Canada, and fishing down here is completely different.
The weather looks amazing tomorrow. I am going to try and get out. Anyone know of any good spots for crappie and what they are biting? thanks!Brian replied 9 years, 9 months ago 6 Members · 11 Replies -

Book a trip with Brain. It is money well spent on leaning and building confidence.

You can fish off maddux road near spring creek but you have to know exactly where to fish. It would be easier just to book a trip with brian. Soon the fish will be shallow and you can catch them off stewards creek boat ramp area.

I’ve been out with him a couple times. I know the lake somewhat well having been out with my boat a bunch of times.

I fished with a friend sunday a little and caught 8 keepers around brush in 15-20 foot of water around Jefferson Springs. Water temp was 50 there.

If I were you I would fish east/west for using jigs and minnows fishing all the trees and brush till you find a pattern. This time if year they should be back there especially with water temps going up. Good luck

Degaman, Nice fish! What depth did they come out of?

2-4 ft. Most boats were fishing the deep side of the creek, and my son and I were slaying ’em on the shallow side. He was using pink/white crappie magnets, and I was using pink/white Big Bite Bait 2″ triple tail grubs, both on 1/16oz pink/white grub heads.
As Brian alluded to, slow retrieve works best.

wow! that’s awesome. I went over and tried up and down by the Jefferson pike bridge, but only caught 4 or 5 white bass. I apparently don’t have the knack for it like you! Those look great!

Try casting 1/16oz jigs with Crappie Magnets in Spring and Fall Creek in 2ft-10ft of water. White and Chartreuse Magnets were hot yesterday.
