    Good Morning all,
My fishing prowess normally revolves around finding a good bank and floating down it looking for bass, or hunting for some bait fish and fishing the shad. This however isn’t great for my 5 year little girl or my 8 yr old son.
I’ve got the coordinates for the brush piles and I’m planning on taking my kids out.

I’ve never fished for Crippie before. Any must have tips? Is this time of year still good for it? When does the bite normally die off? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve had pretty good luck this year crappie fishing with slip bobbers and minnows. Lately we’ve been catching them in about 7 foot of water.

It’s pretty basic strategy and would be easy for kids.

What I normally do is take two minnow rods and one with jig. Use slip floats and minnows with a size 4 aberdeen hook. Use a small split shot. Rig the slip float about 3 feet up the line. Going into fate sanders the water with the fish attractors on the left is where I have been fishing. Cast as far as you can torwards them with one rod, and with the other keep it closer to the shore. While those are soaking, fish your jig rod. I would recommend crappie magnets in purple/chart. black/chart. and white/chart. on a 1/16 ounce jighead. Right now is the best time of the year for crappie off the bank. They usually move out in may but they seem to be two weeks behind this year.
