got out today march 5th
Launched at fate sanders was focusing on crappie, fished from about 2-5. Wind was miserable almost everywhere I went and I float a bunch of bobbers when I fish and it was miserable, just couldnt get away from it. Fished jones mill cove without a bite and then drove around a bit and could not get out of the wind. Drove up river (passed Brian while he was tighlining) to the mouth of spring and fall creek and fished a bank with lots of brush and laydowns that I’ve caught fish on before. Fished the whole and length and only caught 3 with 1 keeper, was fishing shallow with bobbers. Wind started picking back up and I said the heck with crappie and the hassle. Picked up my shakeyhead and fished the brush bank all the way back down. Caught 5 largemouth with 3 keepers, 1 right at 3 lbs. Water temp was about 55-57 everywhere I went. So much for the warm day I intended, had my hoodie and sweatpants on by the time I was done.
