awesome day with a marine buddy, we caught 20 largemouths , 6 keepers. one really good lunker as well. every fish was caught on dark blueish junebug colored finess worm with blue and red flake. shakey head . didnt even get out till 230 and most fish were caught at 3 or 4 p.m. in the heat of the day. the bite died off for us surprisingly at sunset. but i noticed alot of surface action, probably should have switched to topwater.

first we started at jones mill and did three laps up and down the bank, staying in 10 ft, casting to the rocks and really working the worms slow. the biggest bass i pulled in was literally on my line as i was applying sunscreen because i thought my lure was just snagged on another rock. by no means were they aggressively attacking the lures, just kind of holding the worms and sitting still.

then we went to sister cove and hit the sand bars near the marina and drifted on that big flat that leads to sister cove, its only about 3 ft deep but we killed them there.

last spot was mousetail island, and i literally did the route brian wrote about several days ago, by starting in the cove and drifting around the skinny side facing long hunter. tons of action on those rocky points .

great day and got to relax with a fellow soldier before he goes away for a while to do his duty!!
btw this is a marine buddy, i am not a marine, sorry the wording couldve sounded like i was saying i was, ….anyhow, fish on!
