Since I’m leaving Jefferson Springs right now I thought to give a quick report. I put in at Jefferson Springs this morning around 8:30 AM. Thought I would stop off at the Smyrna pumphouse and fish that point. I had planned on finishing the finesse worms on the shaky head but since I caught a keeper of the spot for the last several trips on my sexy shad rattletrap I thought I’d give that a whirl first. Between this point and the point adjacent to it I caught 10 to 12 bass three of which were keepers all between the hours of 8:30 and 2 PM. Everything was caught on the rattletrap, sexy shad pattern 1/4 ounce.

Sounds like a good day. I went out in spring creek using spooks and a flicker shad and caught several smaller bass and a very nice crappie. It was actually pretty nice to be as windy as it was. I did hang into a couple good bass on the spook but they got off at the boat.

It amazes me that you guys are fishing a spook in late December. I know the water is in the mid 50’s in Spring Creek but I would never had thought to throw a spook in December until I joined this site. 🙂

^I said the same thing flow couple years ago but Brian Carper has been doing it since he moved here i guess. I can’t stop duck hunting enough to give it a whirl.
