I sold a Humminbird 859 to a guy that saw it on craigslist (same one I had on here and BBC), he lived in Huntsville, AL. It worked flawlessly when I shipped it. He got it 3 weeks ago and last week texted me and told me that it wasnt working and wouldnt power up and when it did it wouldnt power down. I told him to have a clean battery supply and he swore that it was broken and that he had even called humminbird and they couldnt help. I dont sell broken stuff so I told him to ship it back to me and I would return his paypal.

I got it in the mail today. I opened the package in my garage and plugged it into a battery. It fires right up and performs flawlessly, the same exact way it was when I shipped it. I texted him back and told him this and his response was a little generic like “well dang, I guess some things are a mystery cause I couldn’t get it to work”.

I have the unit and the money at this point. Personally, I think he just found a different one he liked and wants his money back. I dont want to go through the hassle of selling again and we had a deal and I held up my end. What would you do? Is it wrong for me just to ship the unit back to him?

If it was me…I’d send the money back and resell it. Your going to get nothing but grief from this guy. You dont need that. Someone else will buy it

It’s a bummer but I second what snowman said.

I would have done the same thing. Not worth the headache.
