Today BCGS had a very successful day on the water. The bass on Percy Priest are still utilizing the current as the US Corp Eng are still lowering the lake to summer pool. Today, if we did not fish in the current, we did not catch fish. We fished up lake in Stewarts Creek, on extended points off the main channel.

The bass are feeding heavily on shad right now. Flukes in white, pearl or any shad color pattern have been producing for us in 2ft-10ft of water. Search for the shad/bait on these point with your electronics and with your eyes(you always want to be scanning the water this time of year). When the bass come up to the surface you can catch them on topwater lures(we have been using poppers).

When the bass become reluctant to bite the poppers and flukes, pick up a shaky head with a Zoom trick worm OR a texas-rig worm and fish the bottom.

These are the details to our successful day on the water………………….good luck and tight lines!
