I am currently in South Carolina for a funeral, but wanted to try and put some type of report up. I hope everyone has been catching fish and is looking forward to the cooler temperature coming next week.
For the crappie…….around the point in front of Long Hunter boat ramp(around the red channel buoy) has produced a lot of crappie and yellow bass with Crappie Magnets and live minnows light lined off the bottom.
As for the bass, they have been schooling throughout the day…mostly deeper. One of my guides fished around Jones Mill and the small coves within the bluff walls with no takes. They were fishing with flukes and poppers. It was not until they moved out deeper into 10ft-14ft they started catching fish. Fishing the long point on the left at the mouth of Stewarts Creeks produced several bass on soft plastics, shaky heads and jig, including a 5lb!!!
I hope this helps. I will be traveling back tomorrow and will be out on the water Saturday for 1 or 2 trips. I will post a report after trip(s).
