The other day I fished from 3 until 7 pm. While doing a electronic teaching trip we found several schools of bass and caught around 30!

We scanned the points across from Stewart’s Creek boat ramp and the point at the mouth of Stewarts Creek that extends out to the main channel on the left. Neither of these areas were holding fish in 10 to 16 feet of water so we can continue up lake.

We scanned the channel in front of Lamar Hill where there’s a rocky ridge near the green channel buoy and found no bass concentrating there as well.

Next we scanned the left point of Lamar Hill at the mouth where we caught fish Monday night in the tournament. We found a school of bass in 8-14 feet of water a hundred yards off the bank. The water temperature was 84 with 1 foot visibility. We cast Strike King 5XD and 6XDs in shad pattern in addition to four inch Zoom swimbaits on a 3/16oz swimbait jig head and the Alabama Rig. We caught around 15 bass that were feeding between 8 and 15 feet of water.

Next we scanned the right point of Lamar out in front of the white PVC pole ……. no bass.

We traveled up lake further and stopped at the mouth of Spring and Fall Creek. Scanning around the PVC poles at the end of the hump we found another school in 8 to 15 feet of water. With the same lures we caught another 12 to 15 bass in the 8 to 12 foot range. We were having a ball, but wanted to continue going over electronics and looking at different areas.

We moved up further to the Jefferson Pike Bridge and to my surprise there were no bass suspending on the bridge.

We headed back down lake and scanned the hump/point across from Bryant’s Grove boat ramp. We found a handful of bass on the drop-off in 8 to 12 feet of water and backed off. We threw plastic worms….. shaky heads with plum Zoom trick worms, 6xd Shad crankbaits, and a Texas rig Plum Baby Huey with a half ounce bullet weight. We only had one bite on the shaky head, but it was a 3.25lb largemouth! We headed in satisfied with our trip.
