The last couple days the crappie have been on fire! Yesterday, fishing from 630am-12pm. The Hagman and I caught 47 keepers! The crappie were on fire from 7am-1030am and then slowed down around the last couple hours. We fish brushpiles in 13ft-18ft from Bryants Grove to Long Hunter to Four Corners. Most of the brushpiles we fished were near the main channel. I caught a few on a Chart/clear Crappie Magnet fished on 1/8oz Double Cross Crappie Magnet Jig, but most of the keepers were caught light lining minnows off the bottom.

Tomorrow I will be out for a crappie and then a bass trip and will post a Friday trip for the weekend!

Typically, when you say “tight lining,” you’re actually trolling really, really slow (i.e. 0.5-0.7 mph), correct?

I believe Brian is rigging a #2 aberdean hook with split shot weight 10 – 12 up the line, then dropping to the bottom and reeling up a couple turns. He has a video on youtube for the set up.

Rayzor is correct. I do not move at all either.
