Yesterday was a fantastic day for crappie!
In total we caught 48 keepers in about 7 hours of fishing!
Up lake seemed to be very slow fishing in brushpiles in 10ft-18ft. We fished around 12 trees and only had one tree that was very productive. We fished around Pooles Knob boat ramp, Youth Inc, and Fate Sanders. It was not until we moved to mid lake where we really started catching them. Tight lining with live minnows and Crappie Magnets(Percy color pattern on Crappie Double Cross Jigs 1/8oz) in 12ft-18ft we caught we really started catching them. I am not sure why one mile down the lake resulted in so many more bites, but sometimes I do not try to figure things out……..just enjoy the catching! Most of the fish we caught came in front of Hong Kong Island, Bryants Grove and islands on south side of Hobson Pike bridge.
Out if the 48 keepers we only had 3 with eggs…….summer pattern is in effect.
The trees that were on sandy bottoms appeared to be holding more that rock bottoms!
Ill be back with a Friday bass report tomorrow!
