Hey guys, it’s time for the family fishing trip to KY lake this weekend. Anyone been over there recently or have any insight into what stage or where they’re catching the big’uns right now? I will be staying in Jonathan Creek but I’ll be trailering to different sections if necessary. I’m anticipating that there will be fish in the spawn and post spawn, so I’m thinking spawning flats and secondary points will be a big player but any insight anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

I got word that some of the fish were already moving out of the pockets to the ledges. I would imagine more and more are going to be making that move in the coming days. We are going 3 weeks and I figure there will be nothing but 6xds, C rigs, and jigs being thrown from my boat.

Yeah, you’re probably right. My family usually goes around this time every year and it seems like the fish are scattered. Sounds like that’ll be the case this year, classic late spring junk fishing!

I fished Ky Lake last weekend around the ParisLanding area.Water temps were in the low 70s. We fished the bay’s and pockets off the main lake, also fished shoreline grass and shallow bushes. Look for the yellow flowers they were attracting a lot of bass. Mostly fished pop r’s and Texas rigged rage craws, spinner baits and buzz baits. We had a successful trip. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the help, David! Turns out there is a Costa FLW tournament going on this weekend so it might be crowded but hopefully I’ll be able to pick up some stuff from them via the website while I’m there. Either way I’m excited and hopefully I have something to report when I get back.

Your welcome hope you have a good trip! The lake seemed unusually clear for this time of year to me. Some of the locals I talked to said that the spawning phases have been underway but it has not been a typical spring,as a lot of shallow areas that normally attract fish have been unproductive.I had friends that stayed until yesterday tha said they continued the same spots l mentioned, but also caught some good females around the river islands too. Good luck let me know how it goes.
