I have a buddy coming in from Chicago next to fish for a few days. We’re headed for Old Hickory. Lake is pretty new to me. Any thoughts on where to fish and what might be the best bait for bass?
    Thanks

Depending on where you launch, I would fish some deep bluff-type structure. If you’re on the main lake, I’d focus on main lake points, or where the bluff ends and goes into a cove/pocket/creek. I don’t throw an umbrella rig but if you do, this is a good spot for it. Otherwise, I’ve done well with jigs, drop shot, shakey head, etc. If you’re in a big creek (Drakes, Spencer, Cedar, etc.), I’d try any place where the main creek channel swings up close to the bank. Depending on the depth of water or if you get some color to the water or wind, you can throw some reaction baits (jerk, crank, spinner bait).
