Im Hopeing this cold spell that’s coming will not last, Im not done fishing… I have a question….. I have a 24 ft pontoon boat with the trailor being almost 30 feet, so other wise its not garage kept…. Should I be worried that Friday and Saturday Nights are dipping into the 20s… Should I drain the oil in the lower unit ??? or is there something I could maybe wrap it with?? I honestly think we will have more warm fishing days after this cold spell leaves next week… Any ideas will help greatly, Thanks John…

i would maybe test the oil a little bit to be sure it isnt mixed with any water. if its pure oil, i would leave the motor down and just make sure the units drained any remaining water. at least thats my plan this week bc i keep my boat on a trailer outside as well and dont plan on quiting fishing anytime soon this year. also keep storant in your fuel.

Stabilizer wont hurt. Lower motor, turn it on for one second and then turn it off to flush out any water. Lower motor and wrap with towel to be safe.
