Bird Island is the closest one to Hobson Pike Bridge from the up lake side of the bridge. The Four Corners cut through is when you’re coming out of four corners and you pass four points in about a mile length and then continue through the cut through. You need to be careful going through here and idle on the left side for the first dozen times to make sure you don’t hit the rocks in the middle. When you get through it you’ll see the LaVergne Pumphouse building on your right.

Is Bird Island also known as Pear Island (as Google maps has it) by chance?
