Which map card is best for Old Hickory and Percy Priest? I have Lowrance units and I’m planning on fishing at night for the first time this summer. I want more accurate maps for a number of reasons:
    1. Lake Insight, which comes with my Lowrance units, isn’t accurate at all. I was idling around Old Hickory the other day (looking for brush, trees, etc) and the map isn’t anywhere close to being right
    2. Fishing – I’m trying to make myself learn to fish deep on PP & OH (I’ve had success before but it seems each year I find myself going back to my bread and butter of shallow water fishing) and a better map would help me locate humps, drops, etc better. I had a Navionics chip a LONG time ago but wasn’t really impressed. It was the cheapest of the chips available at the time.
    3. Safety – If I’m going to be fishing at night, it’s important my map is right when it’s showing me the channel and depths.

What do you guys use? What is the best? I’ve seen the new Lowrance Lake Insight HD maps but Old Hickory and Percy Priest are listed as “standard definition” which makes me think it wouldn’t be any different than the stock Lake Insight that comes with the units.

I have used Garmin for years and just picked up an EchoMap 93SV for my crappie boat. Map detail is great but depth contours are off by a about 5 feet a SP.

I’m using the navionics app on my phone as well as a Navionics+ chip which allows you to select what area you want detail on. You’re not limited by region(s) or anything just simply the capacity of the memory card. I’d highly recommend it.

I just use the map on my Lowrance without a chip, but my guide have the Navionics Premium chip and I’m gonna get one this weekend.
