I fished 8 hours today with a group of 4 guys in my center console. The cold finally passed and the sun felt great after lunch today! This morning we started hybrid fishing in front of Bryant’s Grove Cove with Alabama Rigs and then swim jigs with flukes and swimbaits 15 to 25 feet beneath the surface. The water temperature was 52 degrees with a foot-and-a-half visibility. Which trolled back and forth for 45 minutes and had several bites and landing two hybrid. After 30 minutes trolling we started looking around other areas of the lake.

We scanned around Hong Kong, Long Hunter, and landed at Four Corners. Fishing the main channel in front of Four Corners we quickly caught a 5 lb hybrid followed by another missed a strike.

Lastly before lunch we went back to Bryant’s Grove and trolled one more time without any luck.

When we went back out after lunch we decided to bass fish because the wind was too strong. We went to Stewarts Creek and fished in the back behind the back boat ramp with shaky heads. We stayed in a 20 yard area up against the rip rap and cast out to the rocks on the other side of the channel. The water was 57 degrees with 2.5 foot visibility! Casting quarter ounce shaky heads in with green pumpkin and plum Zoom trick worms we had 12 to 15 bites catching half of them with several decent keepers! We headed back in happy we didn’t have to fight the wind the last several hours today. Finally the cold looks like it’s moved out and the warmth is here! I’ll be out tomorrow crappie fishing in the morning and the bass fishing the afternoon. With the clouds it should be a spooky kind of day if you know what I mean.
