Went out for a few hours this morning with clients.

We headed into Fall Creek and started casting minnows on floats in 2ft-4ft to any piece of wood. The water was cold in there at 54 degrees. After two hours we caught only 12 with 7 keepers.

I moved to the mouth of Spring Creek and started trolling Crappie Magnets. I had on orange/chart and green/chart on 1/32oz jigs. In 2 passes in 8ft-12ft we caught 12 with only 2 keepers. I have been kinda tied of trolling and catching tons of short fish.

I moved into Jones Mill Cove and went back to floats and minnows(I love watching that float go down). The water temperature was 61! We caught 5 giant keepers and a couple short fish casting to any wood in 6ft or less. For me the floats with minnows are catching a whole lot bigger crappie.

We cruised to Pooles knob boat ramp and tried a few brushpiles in 5ft and caught a couple more giants!

All in all, good day. I think I dressed 15 quality keepers!

I’ll be out all tomorrow guiding 2 trips. Hope to slay’em!
