Today I went out for a few hours with some clients. It was a battle fighting the wind, but we were still able to put a few keepers in the boat.

We started on the rock point directly across from Fate Sanders and fished all the way to the cable crossing sign. Fishing in 1-4ft we caught one short fish on a C-rig with a creature bait. We were also fishing crankbaits and buzzbaits, but no action with them.

Then we cruised back across the channel to Fate Sanders and fished the left bank across from the boat docks. Towards the end of the bank(fishing towards the back of the creek), we marked tons of bait on the structure scan. Casting crankbaits and C-rigs we caught one keeper off the long rocky point at the end of the bank.

Next, we headed down lake near Pooles Knob campground(near Hong Kong Island). Fishing the cove where the campsites are on the bank, we caught one on the right side with a c-rig. There is a long sandy point that extends off the bank with isolated stumps scattered in 6ft-8ft. We caught one there on C-rig and then we caught another at the mouth of the cove(Pooles knob side) on a 1/4oz shaky head with a Zoom Trick worm(green pumpkin). The wind was way too strong to hold there so it was time to move.

Next, Long Hunter boat ramp cove. We tried fishing the right bank heading into cove……way too windy there too.

Lastly we stopped at the huge drop off between Four Corners and the cut-through going up-lake. If you were motoring the cut through(when the water is up…..DO NOT TAKE THIS CUT THROUGH NOW) heading down lake, it would be the first 2 point on your left. The channel swing in front of those 2 points. It is 60ft in the channel and then comes up into 5-7ft with boulder rocks everywhere. Fishing with C-rigs and crankbaits, we caught 2 keepers there in 3ft-4ft…one on c-rig and other on Minnow 3.3 Red Craw about 2.5lbs.

After 4 hours we had enough of the wind and heading in. All and all, not a bad outing. We caught several fish and almost 1 fish at each place we fished.
