Yesterday I fished from 9:30am-3:30pm. The elements were against us fishing in the cold, windy, rain. Fortunately, we were still able to have a great day of fishing! In total we caught around 50 crappie, including 25 keepers.

We started the day(out the wind) fishing the ledges around Spring Creek. More specifically we fished the ledge directly across from the mouth of Spring Creek and the next flat on the left going up lake. Trolling with Crappie Magnets on 1/32oz jig heads in 6ft-14ft, we caught fish here and there on the ledge, but caught more moments after trolling over a big tree or structure.

Our best colors were chartreuse, purple/chart, white, white/chart.

After trolling for a few hours we idled into Fall Creek and started casting to isolated stumps and wood. We did not catch as many in there, but we did see bigger crappie! 1/16oz double cross Crappie Magnet jigs on purple/chart and killer katt Magnets appeared to be the most productive. We stayed in 4ft-6ft feet the entire time, casting into 2ft-4ft.

Out of 26 keepers, 24 were full of eggs. By the end of this week the crappie we be on fire!

It has been coming up a little the last few days. This rain yesterday will probably bring it up a few more inches.

Near and around the boat ramp. Couldn’t get much but a few bluegills in the back.
