Well, this is the last report before our big event! If you have considered fishing in this event…please do. It will be a fun event for a great cause! It will be a laid back tournament with awesome trophies and great raffle prizes! All the information is at the top of the forum.

For starters, Percy Priest 2ft above summer pool now. The upper end of the lake is chocolate milk with tons of debris in the channel. Mid and down lake are normal with 2ft-4ft visibility.

Yesterday I fished with one of my guide and we stayed down lake. We started in Suggs Creek bouncing from point to point with A-rigs, jigs and lizards. We fished the first 2 point on the right in 6ft-12ft. I caught a pair of short fish and lost a keeper on my jig and my buddy didn’t get a sniff. Then we moved to the left side of the creek and fished a drop off in the channel and I lost a decent fish on the surface.

Then we moved to Old Hickory Cove and fished the bridges in the back. We marked some fish and caught several casting on to the road beds and bridges with lizards and jigs. I used a 6″ green pumpkin lizards texas rig and a 1/2 black and blue Hoppys jig with a green/blue paca craw trailer.

We motored over to sailboat cove and fished the points inside the cove with our A-rigs in 4ft-8ft…nada

Our best spot was the point in Hamilton Creek with the boat ramp on the left heading in(Anderson recreation boat ramp). In our first pass we caught a 5lb and 6lb largemouth, 3+lb smallmouth, and a 2lb largmouth!! All came on the A-rig on in 6ft-10ft. On our second pass I caught a 3.5lb!! We called it a great day, tooks some pics and headed in.

As for the crappie. Today I did pretty well fishing mid lake from Four corners to Byrants Grove Cove in the clear water in brushpiles. It seemed like most trees in 14ft-18ft were holding good crappie. We fished with Double Cross Crappie Magnet Jig heads 1/8oz. Our best colors were Percy, Green/Chart, Yellow/Chart.
