The last couple days I have had some memorable trips. We have been only fishing several spots, but what a jewel they have been. I have been starting around the south Island in front of the Hobson Pike bridge. Fishing the north bank (facing the bridge) I have been sitting in 8ft-18ft and casting into 4ft-6ft with 3 lures….a-rig, c-rig with pumpkinseed lizards and a 1/4oz shaky head with green trick worm. Fishing the entire back bank we have been catching quality smallmouth and largemouth!
Another great spot has been the cove on the right(going down lake) before Hobson Pike bridge. Starting on the left point of the cove and going into the cove, we have been sitting in 10-14ft casting to the bank with our lizards on Texas rigs and c-rigs. We have been catching 6-15 bass each day!
Going under HP bridge to Smith Smiths, i have been fishing between Smith Spring boat ramp and Anderson recreational boat ramp. Again sitting in 10-14ft and casting to 4ft-6ft and dragging back slowly, we have been catching a lot of small and large largemouths.
I have realized the rig is better on cloudy days and the soft plastics on sunny days!
Y’all have a great weekend!!!!
