The water has been up a couple feet the last few days which has scattered the crappie in the shallow water. The muddier water has not helped the bite either. With that said, I started fishing mid lake in the clear water…..12ft to 18ft.

Fishing brushpiles around Bryants Gove, Long Hunter boat ramp and islands around Four Corners, the crappie have been quite active. I have been catching both males and females…..some 12-14″! I have been using just Crappie Magnets, on 6lb line. Fishing with 1/8oz Crappie Magnet Double Cross Jigs, the best colors have been pearl, purple/chart, green/chart and pink/chart!

The upper end of the lake has been slow fishing both shallow and deep. The water clarity was a lot better today and should start picking up!

I will be out tomorrow and Tuesday fishing for crappie……hoping for a stringer full!

I want to add, specifically the island straight out in front of Four Corners about 1 mile has been the best.

I look forward to hearing your report this week. I may slip out this weekend for a shot at the crappie. Possibly Sunday.

Keep us posted how it goes this week on the crappie bite.

    Thanks,

I would also like to know if they are shallow too.
