The last two days I have crappie fished from 630am-11am.

Each day I had over 20 keepers fishing the same technique, brushpiles in 13ft-18ft. I have been light lining live minnows and Crappie Magnets on 1/8 jigs(pink heads). The best Magnet colors have been Chartreuse(body and tail) and Percy.

Yesterday I had most of my success around Bryants Grove on the flat across the channel. Near Long Hunter boat ramp produced as well in same depth off the main channels points. The island straight out in front of Four Corners produced as well in the same depths. The brushpiles that are on sand seemed to be better…..easier for them to spawn on. Side note****Almost all of the fish we caught were full of eggs even at those depths****

Today I caught crappie in the same locations, but had a lot of keepers around the Youth Inc camp as well. There, 13ft-16ft was productive.

I think there are still plenty of crappie shallow, but it seems the bite has slowed down since the water came up. I will probably try some shallow banks again, but the deep bite is consistent.

I thought I was done crappie fishing this year but I might have to try again. Hard to not go bass fishing though.

Casey and I caught our fish Saturday in 14 fow, in the mix were some dark colored males and females with eggs we had our best luck with hot pink heads also. Are some of these spots on the GPS list? OH has been stubborn in giving up the crappie this year for me, I’m hitting some deeper water to see if it will give up some fish. I think we may have a couple weeks of spawn left just finding them is the trick.
